SUMMARY: “a comedy of menace” (I. Wardle)

Stanley is the only guest at Meg and Petey’s at their rundown seaside boarding house. Life is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of two mysterious and sinister strangers called Goldberg and McCann.  A young woman, Lulu, arrives as well and gets caught in the mix.   Everyone assumes the 2 men have come to throw a party for Stanley.  Instead, they terrorise him on behalf of some ‘organization’, and he breaks down. They take him away claiming he’s had a nervous breakdown.
