24-Hour Playwriting Competition: Call for Teams
Up to 6 teams will compete in front of a live audience on June 14, 2024. This FUN event will foster creativity and collaboration, while celebrating Cranbrook's Spirit of the Rockies Festival.
Teams of up to 1-4 people will embark on the challenge of creating their 10
minute original plays within a 24-hour timeframe. CCT encourages all aspiring playwrights and theatre enthusiasts to seize this opportunity for creative expression, camaraderie, and artistic growth.

Registration requires:
Names, phone numbers, and email addresses for all of the team members
(up to 4 people per team) & your Team Name,
Teams will be announced on June 10, 2024.
On June 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm, the selected teams will meet at the Studio/Stage door to receive a prop and a line of inspiration to get their creative juices flowing. The teams will be provided rehearsal space to write and rehearse their play. Teams are encouraged to source their own costumes & props. Limited help will be provided with props, costumes, and tech for their performance.
Finally, at 7:30 pm on Friday, June 14, 2023 the teams will perform their plays and be judged by a live audience at the Stage Door. The winning play and the winning team will receive $400 cash!

Bears & Chairs Raffle supports theatre program
Meet 'Bud' & 'Hare' bear, two charming characters created by volunteers from the fur of coats from our costume room. They are silky soft and dressed in custom made apparel. These two bears, valued at $500 each, are offered up as raffle prizes along with two bamboo Directors' chairs. All prizes are imprinted with our special logo to celebrate 50 years as stewards of the Studio Stage Door and 60 years as a performing theatre arts organization in 2024.
Tickets are $10 each, sold at the CCT office, or by CCT members. Draw date is June 14th, 2024.
