About

 Musical comedy:
A charming play about the romantic exploits of Ella, a telephone answering service operator who meddles in the lives of her clients. She grows increasingly determined to help a young playwright who is having trouble getting work, falls in love with the head of a record company (who hoodwinks her to set up a bookmaking establishment), gossips and meddles with other telephone ‘belles’ and clients and cheerfully goes about her life.   The plot thickens.  Things don’t always go as Ella planned.
